I think Kurt is going broke. I think Kurt is in debt. Really bad debt, or something. I overheard him on the phone at work today. I was walking into his office to have him sign off on some paperwork, and he kind of motioned for me to not come in….he was pointing to the phone and shooing me out. But I wasn’t gonna leave. So I just slowly walked to his desk, handed him the paperwork and heard him mention to the person on the other end of the phone something about insufficient funds. And how he never has that. He said he had been a customer for 14 years and never felt so something….I didn’t get to hear everything. Kurt gave me the evil eye and a hand motion that was like “GTFO”. So I walked out. But now my head is spinning…what else is new. I am dying to know who he was talking to. We went to lunch after that, like 40 minutes after he got off the phone, but we went with Bridget and Keith…so I couldn’t exactly be like…”Hey Babe…are you broke?” Not really a conversation you want to start at lunch with co-workers. Co-workers who by the way are totally hooking up. Bridg and Keith are the only other 2 people besides me and Kurt who are cool in our office. We work with a bunch of old, ugly women and stuffy men. So blah. Bridget has been with the company for 3 years. Keith just started about 6 months ago. She interviewed him for the position and they hit it off. So we all try to hang out once a week, or have lunch. She’s a really sweet girl. Just a little older than me. She’s never been married. Keith was totally engaged when he met her. He was almost 2 months from his wedding. He met Bridge, got cold feet and left. Left his fiancé! Of almost 3 years. Crazy! But she is cool about it. Bridget can take a joke when we call her husband stealer. They know about Kurt and I too. I was a little worried at first to start letting people know, but it is so obvious now. Bridget ordered some wine with lunch. A little too much and she started asking if Kurt and I ever “MADE PANCAKES” in the office. Totally awkward. I didn’t answer. Kurt nudged me to not say anything. We could get fired. So I just gave a smirk. I think it was obvious the answer was yes. Time for dinner. Another night of pizza. Bye.
