Jenna's Blog - April 9th, 2008 *** Help ***

HOLY SINGLE MOM MOMENT, BATMAN!!!  UGH!  WHAT SHOULD I DO?  GRRRR!

On Easter weekend, my parents came to town.  In what she strongly felt was her motherly responsibility, my mom spent two days rearranging my kitchen and bathrooms...can't find a thing, but that's fine...it was more for her than it was for me and I get that.

HOWEVER!

My dad and I on the other hand, spent 2 full days working in the yard.  Mowed the grass, trimmed the trees, bushes, plants, shrubs...we raked 2 years worth of leaves that were crammed along the entire length of the fence in the back yard (THAT part was back-breaking, by the way!)...we even cleaned up the swing set and replaced the swing seats.  To my shock, 76 year old Daddy and I filled 16...YES, 16!... fifty-five gallon bags with stuff from the yard...no garbage...just leaves, grass, pine cones, sticks, etc. etc.

That is great news, right?  My property probably looks AMAZING, right?!?!  Yes.  Yes it does.  It's really beatiful :-)

HOWEVER!

Neither one of us realized that we had to put yard stuff in CLEAR bags.  CLEAR!  My bags are black.  They are not clear.  That means the city won't come pick them up.  Wuh?  What should I do?  It's totally my fault.  It was a total "'new, single mom moment." ... how was I supposed to know all this?

Someone help!  And really, I've already considered putting one bag of leaves/etc. in each neighbors garbage can the evening before garbage day, but really, that'll take a few weeks...oh, and I mean, it's just not right...
