Are you ready for the big 3 day weekend? Here’s something you know before anyone….beginning Friday at 5pm…we’ll be playing a Dave Matthews Band song at the top of each hour thru Monday night! Nothing says summertime more than the Dave Matthews Band in Hampton Roads! Here are some fun pics with me and Gwen Stefani and Mandy Moore….and some cool news you should know.

MEET THE NEW MOMMY!
Sheryl Crow is on the cover of the upcoming issue of OK! magazine with her newly adopted son Wyatt Steven. In an exclusive interview with the mag (on newsstands tomorrow), Sheryl talks about adopting the boy, and how it feels to be a new mommy. Sheryl says that she always wanted to adopt and put the wheels in motion just after she finished her last radiation treatment for breast cancer. "The day he came home (April 30th) I felt like the whole house had changed. The house felt fuller," she says. "You just feel like nesting and making sure he's acclimated to the world. It is all so fascinating." The adoption was private and closed, but Sheryl says she has every intention of letting her son know that he's adopted. "I am going to raise him in a healthy environment," she says. "He will know he's adopted. He will know as much as he wants to know about his family. And if the time comes that he wants to meet his birth family, I will help him with that."
MORE GREY'S RUMORS!
Isaiah Washington's Grey's Anatomy status is still up in the air, with some sites reporting he's definitely gone next season and others saying he'll be back but only part time. US Weekly claims that Washington may turn up next season but not as a series regular. Said a source, he "could show up for a few episodes." Meanwhile, E! online reporter Kristin Veitch says that Washington has already begun taking meetings in search of a new job. In related news, Washington's Grey's co-star T.R. Knight told Access Hollywood that he's not sure whether he still has a job. "I literally don't know," he said. "It would be nice to know if I'm supposed to report back soon."
GILMORE GIRLS TO LIVE ON?
TV Guide Online reports that Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, who left the CW series before last year, says she wants to make a Gilmore Girls TV movie that ties up all the loose ends. Sherman-Palladino, who always said she knew what should be the last four words of the series, is hoping it will happen within the next two years. One person who is open to the idea is star Lauren Graham. She told TV Guide, "Could be a fun idea if everyone wanted to do it. I would do it just to get the four final words out of Amy. They torture me."

OK, here it goes, another great week. Hope you had some fun over the weekend. First, I’d like to thank Point Frequent listener Shelia who told she read my blog..and it was boring…thanks Shelia. You know how sensitive radio DJ’s are. This is going to be more money to my therapist…just kiddin’. Thanks for at least reading it! Maybe I should spice it up…maybe dish a little about some of my fellow disc jockeys. Wow , that could make my work week a little strange. So here is how you can reach me. barry@pointradio.com
Saturday, I checked out Carbon Leaf at the Chesapeake Jubilee (they were great) and ate a frozen cheesecake dipped in chocolate. Is it still as fattening if I ate it while walking around the Jubilee with my wife? It was sooooooooooooooo gooooooooooooooood.
Sunday, we shopped for a fire pit for the backyard with matching chairs. Found the best one at Home Depot for $600. Only downside was that I had to put it together! I got it all together last night but it was too dark to really enjoy it. We’ll be doing that tonight.
So what did you do over the weekend? Shoot me an email. Plus, tell me where you are listening from. Work? Home? Etc.
Talk to you tomorrow.

OK, FRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDAY!! Love the vibe of Fridays. But hey, what’s with this weather? Oh well, guess this will smash my plans to put mulch around the house. Does anyone ‘like’ that job? Hey gotta send some props to Lawn Doctor of Kempsville. My lawn is looking awesome. Thank YOU!! I want to slip into to see Spider Man this weekend. I’m overdue on theatre Popcorn and Goobers with Diet Coke…(come on, you know you love it) OK. The weather is warm and I have no excuse. I am hitting the pavement Monday to get back into shape for the summer. Nothing killer, just a good jog to get the heart rate up. I have some great vitamins and an energy drink all ready so I am good to go. Oh, and my Asics from last year are still in great shape! Tomorrow since the weather is going to wet, I’m going to replace my TIVO with my new DVR. This will replace 2 units in the rack and should be easier to operate. (I Hope) Sunday, I’ll be running the sound board at my church for our rockin’ band. They are way cool (and loud ; ) ) On the horizon, Gwen Stefani live at the ampitheatre. You got your ticket yet? So have a fun weekend… and I’ll see ya on the radio. Hit me back, barry@pointradio.com

Monday, Monday….hey there. Sorry for not writing for a couple days…wow, talk about getting busy! Update, my Jeep passed inspection (thanks Jimmy)! On the bird front, I was able to ‘encourage’ the birds to build a nest elsewhere. The nest was just beginning to take form so I simply took my garden hose and knocked it down. I still have a good many wasps flying around with a small nest behind my house. I’ll see you at Home Depot in the insect killer department (that always has that weird smell). Saturday night I hung out at Hall Nissan for a few hours. Met some great people like John who helped me crank up the Point inside a new Altima. And new transplant to VB from Savannah Georgia, Travis Romine. Welcome Travis and help him out and buy a new car will ya?
At the Point we are working on something really big for the summer but I can’t tell ya write now but if it happens you will love!
Are you diggin’ the warm weather? I am. Did a whole wax number on my Jeep yesterday, mowed, edged and blowed the lawn yesterday. Then I watched the movie ‘Children of Men’ on the big screen with a really too large bowl of Moosetracks! Yeah baby! Hey, write when you get a second barry@pointradio.com
Hey to my neighbor Jerry who is a huge Point listener.

Hey, happy Thursday. I did it again. My vehicles’ state inspection expires at the end of this month and I’ve waited till the last minute to get my Jeep checked out. It should pass OK, I just got new tires last year. I am getting some ‘shake, rattle and roll’ from underneath so that could be a problem. Doesn’t matter, because when I take my car in for repair I just plop down $500 bucks BEFORE they even look at it. I just know it’s going to be something expensive. Ha!
On the home front, I have birds who are building a nest in my light that hangs way up outside my front door. This means my walkway is going to be filled with bird crap. I looked up there yesterday morning and they are just beginning to build a nest. I wanted to look closer but got chased away by a huge bumble bee (I swear it was 5 inches round). I’ll keep you posted.
Joe Hodge from Virgin Records just stopped in to my office and is playing the new KT Tunstall song called “Other Side of The World” for me. It’s pretty good. I may have to play this one on my show.
Don’t forget you can reach me at barry@pointradio.com Would love to hear from you!
Later all….

Last night at the Mckay house, we had a birthday party for my daughter. We sprang for the new chocolate/strawberry cell phone for her. I am the best Dad! Thanks Lori at Verizon on Virginia Beach Blvd. for the hook up. After the party (I went into a sugar coma) I fell asleep trying to catch Woo Woo on FOX TV talking about American Idol. Sorry Woo.
Don’t forget the new feature on my show from 3p-4p called “My Big Announcement”…this is where you can call me at 490-9490 with your big announcement. You bought a new home…your kids made honor roll…you won a million dollars..whatever. Did you hear the lady that found out she is pregnant at 40 years old…I’m still crying!! LOL.
I’ll talk to you tomorrow. Hit me up on email at barry@pointradio.com and as always, thanks for spending time with me each day.
